Course Description This is a required course, which will cover from the end of Reconstruction to current day events and issues, approximately 1877 to the present. United States History will emphasize individual roles, problems, issues and major events that have shaped our current history. The students need to have a basic understanding of U.S. and European geography. Students need to be proficient in their note taking ability. There may be occasional projects and oral reports due in class. Also, currently all 11th grade students will take the TAKS test in April. |

Absences & Make-up Policy Attendance is very important!!! It is hard to catch up if you miss class. (1) It is the students responsibility to get any missed notes and assignment. (2) Assignments dure on the day you are absent will be due on the day you return. (3) You have 1 day to make-up work for every day that you are absent. (4) If you know that you will be absent, ask for the assignment before leaving. (5) You will be expected to take any missed test within 2 days of returning back to school -- remember missing any test will put you at a disadvantage. |
Late Work Policy The following is the Robert E. Lee Senior High School late work policy: 1 day late --- maximum grade is 70. 2 days late --- maximum grade is 60. 3 days late --- maximum grade is 50.

Tutoring Tutoring is very important. If you need extra help, feel lost or behind in class, please come for extra help. Quizzes and make-up tests will be tiaken during tutorials. Tutorials will be every morning before school 8:00am-8:30am and during lunch. If this does not work for you, please come see me about other arrangements. |
Extra Credit Extra credit is given to any student who volunteers for Midland Teen Court as a juror or peer attorney. Midland Teen Court is scheduled on Mondays at 5:00pm. See the bullentin board for dates or more information. All extra credit work is due by the end of the 5th six week. |
