| When children get sick at school |
|
If a child becomes ill at school, he/she will be evaluated either by the campus nurse or the office staff. If the child’s illness warrants leaving campus, a staff member will contact the parent or the designated emergency contact to sign the child out and take him/her home.
We ask that a child with vomiting, diarrhea or fever over 100.4 degrees, stay home for 24 hours prior to returning to school. The Texas Department of Health provides specific guidelines for communicable diseases, such as chicken pox. Some of these illnesses may require a release from the physician in order to return to school.
