The cafeteria was transformed to fit the Great Outdoors theme. Tim Whalen served as Master of Ceremonies and Richard Galle of Sibley Nature Center presented photos set to music showcasing West Texas. |

CNS Blood Drive The United Blood Service Mobile Unit came to our CNS warehouse December 13. We had a steady flow of 17 volunteers from 2:00 until 5:00. Three names were drawn for donor prizes. Sandra Payan was the winner of a gift certificate to Outback Steakhouse, Bea Ramos and Blaza Orona won tee shirts. Our blood drive was held in honor of Sargent Faulkenberry. |

Wellness Kickoff Child Nutrition Services and Midland Memorial SportsCare have teamed up together to begin a wellness program for our staff. "Schools on the Move" is a fun, competitive, incentive-based exercise program that promotes healthy lifestyles. December 13 was our kickoff date and activities included blood pressure checks conducted by Tracey Dees, RN; glucose screening by Rhonda Carr, RD, CDE; fitness/flexibility testing by Nancy Surber, Assistant Athletic Director; physical activity stations led by Carol Franklin and John Burdsal. Lindsay Busbee from MMH SportCare was instrumental in making this happen! |

Shining Star Award CNS honors their hard working dedicated staff monthly with their Shining Star award. The recipients receive a certificate, "Shining Star" button and get to display the trophy for a month. |

2008-2009 Scholarship Recipient Chris Silva, son of Ana and JR Silva, is the recipient of a Midland Association for School Nutrition Scholarship Award. A senior at Midland High School, Chris plans to attend Midland College and UTPB and major in Medicine. |
