Arts Assembly of Midland is dedicated to improving the quality of life in Midland by encouraging participation in the arts among all ages and cultures. If you believe in the visual and performing arts, music, theaters, museums and children, please support Arts Assembly of Midland.
Established in the fall of 2004 by musicians who live and work in the Permian Basin, Allegro is committed to bring a fresh new expression of musical artistry to our community. We believe that music is for everyone and our repertoire will mirror the cultural diversitiy found in our region. Our concerts are free of charge and will be held in a wide array of neighborhoods to encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to experience what we have found to be true: Music Unites Us!
The purpose of MAA, as stated in the by-laws, includes : to encourage a community of interest between professional and lay people in all forms of art; to widen the scope of potential experience in art by sponsoring art events; to offer artists opportunities to display their work and to offer the public a means of witnessing what is being done; to encourage amateur artists and to create an atmosphere of coordinated effort between the amateur and the professional; and to promote other educational, charitable, civic and educational objectives.
The Midland-Odessa Symphony & Chorale is the largest professional symphonic organization in the Permian Basin. Our current season includes a Masterworks Series of 4 performances, a 4-event Pops Series (Broadway, popular music, jazz, and much more), special events (Texas Wine Experience, Friends' of the Ensembles concert, etc.), and Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker ballet in collaboration with the Midland Festival Ballet.
The Museum of the Southwest, Midland, Texas is one of the country's most interactive and imaginative blends of art and science, and features an Art Museum, Children's Museum, and a Planetarium. It is a cultural center for all ages and interests.
The mission of Midland Community Theatre is to bring quality theatre arts and educational opportunities to Midland and the Permian Basin for the benefit of the audience and volunteers. Turn-of-the-century melodrama, once so familiar to early American stages and films, still thrives in Midland's annual Summer Mummers. Celebrating it's 59th season this year, it is the longest-running summer theatre in Texas.
Midland Festival Ballet is a dance company located in Midland, Texas. The mission of Midland Festival Ballet is to develop the skills and expand the artistic potential of young dancers, to provide quality performance opportunities for them, and to further public understanding and appreciation of the art of classical ballet as a vibrant part of the cultural mix of the community.
Given as a gift by Colonel and Mrs. Walter B. Smith, in memory of her parents, W.F. and Mary McIntyre McCormick, and her brother George D. McCormick, the McCormick Gallery was established in 1978. The gallery is located in the main foyer of the Allison Fine Arts Building and annually hosts multiple exhibits of works in a wide range of media. Midland Opera Theatre is proud to have donated over 800 tickets to area students for our 2005 events. For our production of "Madam Butterfly," Nyela Basney produced a wonderful student guide which we presented to 400 students. Our goal is to educate our young people and give them opportunities to experience what has been called "the most complete art form."

The Ellen Noël Art Museum of the Permian Basin connects people with art through changing exhibitions and growth of the permanent collection. The Museum collaborates with schools, colleges and universities, and provides child and adult art classes, artist workshops and family activities.
Our Mission... is the preservation, perpetuation and expansion of America’s original musical art form – jazz; the promotion of jazz as an art form among the young; and, the presentation of quality jazz performances in the Permian Basin.
Art Pour Vous is the Midland, Texas studio and gallery of award-winning, multi-media artist Ginger Witte. Children's art lessons, commissioned artwork, gardenscapes, interior and exterior mural designs and girls' art parties are but a few of the many artistic services offered in the beautiful and creative environment of Art Pour Vous.
