Band
Band is offered beginning in the 7th grade at each of the junior high schools. Students compete at the junior high level in concert band. As band students enter the 9th grade, they begin to compete not only at the concert band level but in marching band as well. Both MISD bands have consistently been participants in the State Marching Band competition and the State Honor Band competitions and rank among the finest bands in the state.
